Unique Halloween Wedding at the Atkinson Country Club & Resort – Angelica & Ken

Angelica and Ken planned an absolutely epic Halloween wedding at the Atkinson Country Club to kick off their marriage! The weather was what every couple hopes for, a gorgeous fall day with sunny, warm weather. Everything from each decor item, to the party games, was so well thought out and planned. I was so honored to be chosen to photograph this wedding. It perfectly combined many wedding traditions, while adding in many unique touches that made it so personal to the bride and groom.

From the moment I arrived in the afternoon to the end of the evening, Angelica was a ray of sunshine with a big beautiful smile. She chose an elegant black wedding dress that was so stunning and fitting for Halloween! It had touches of lace, sheer fabric, and sparkles with a long train. Her curled hair and red lipstick complemented the drama of her amazing gown and wedding theme. Her bridal bouquet added touches of traditional fall with bright red roses and sunflowers mixed in with greenery.

It was important to Ken and Angelica to include their siblings and friends in their bridal party and didn’t want to follow traditional bridesmaid and groomsmen roles. You see, Angelica is close to her two brothers and sister. She wanted her brothers to be a part of her side of the bridal party as bridesMEN, which they loved! She had her sister stand by her side as the maid of honor. Ken also wanted to be sure to honor his sister on his side of the bridal party!

Angelica selected a rich and gorgeous burgundy color that was perfect for a fall wedding. The bridesmaids all wore matching dresses with touches of lace and sheer fabric that complimented the bride. The bridesmen and grooms woman chose suites that matched the bridesmaids perfectly. The mother of the bride also had a beautiful coordinating burgundy gown!

Angelica and Ken encouraged their guests to dress in Halloween costumes, and they did not disappoint. Their family and friends arrived in some of the most amazing makeup and costumes I’d ever seen. All of their costumes were so creative and everyone enjoyed the uniqueness of dressing in a costume for a wedding! As everyone took their seats they were so surprised and excited when two men walked down the aisle as the ring bearer and flower man! It was so fun to watch the flower man dance through the air as he came down the aisle throwing rose petals from his pockets!

The ceremony was beautiful and touching. The bride and groom opted not to do a first look, so they were thrilled to finally see each other. The groom’s face says it all as Angelica walked down the aisle with her parents. You could tell how in love they were just by the way they looked at each other.

The reception was an absolute blast! Angelica and Ken entered their reception and went immediately into their first dance. They had a fog machine that complimented the Halloween theme perfectly and made it look like they danced among the clouds. The couple next planned some wedding party games for their guests. These games had everyone hysterically laughing and made for some amazing pictures. It is my favorite to capture those candid moments of guests having so much fun together! They had the group play a game like musical chair, but they had to run around and strike their best pose. Angelica and Ken also played the infamous “shoe game” where they are asked questions about each other and raise up the matching shoe for the answer. Even before dancing everyone was up on the dance floor and laughing. You could tell how much the families enjoyed being together as being separated for so long!

I snuck out of the reception with Angelica and Ken to capture some sunset photos. When I photograph at the Atkinson Country Club I always have the couples climb to the top of a hill where you can see nothing but the sky. The sky has never once looked the same and didn’t disappoint this time either! You can check out other Atkinson Country Club weddings here.

This couple perfectly demonstrates how your wedding can be however you want it to be! There are no rules and you can create a wedding day that is unique to you and your love story! All of the details and personal touches made it a day to remember for everyone included! Congratulations to Angelica and Ken!
