Weddings in 2020 were a challenge – that is no surprise. When Chelsea and Tyler were faced with the fact that their wedding might have to be postponed, they chose to have a beautiful, intimate, backyard wedding with their closest friends and family. I met everyone at Massabesic Lake for a romantic first look and some fun wedding party photos. Their first look was so sweet – it was obvious this couple adored each other. Take a look at these adorable first look shots and then read on for more from this NH backyard wedding.
This wedding party was super fun and we had a blast playing wedding party games for the photos! I loved how much they got into it all. It was a gorgeous day at Lake Massabesic. I also had the opportunity to create some beautiful images of Chelsea and Tyler before we headed back to their home for their intimate wedding ceremony and joyful reception party. Read on . . .
They had the CUTEST wedding decor and details at this wedding. Perfect for a intimate but casual, rustic themed event. I loved the favors that they chose for their guests – heart shaped seed paper that you plant and watch the flowers grow. The arbor that they were married under was just gorgeous, adorned with beautiful florals and white draping. So pretty for photos! Birch trunks and monograms and lots of greenery and florals completed the picture perfect setting.
The ceremony at this micro wedding was emotional – I just love how the groom visibly looks like he’s blowing out his breath when he sees his bride walk down the aisle. And then he hands a tissue to his best man because he was crying too. And the look on the bride’s face when she sees her husband to be so emotional – and then DAD! So much emotion and joy and love – I think the fact that this wedding got to happen during such a challenging time made it all the more wonderful.
This wedding reception was one of my favorites of the year. Why? It was the first time I’d been out with people, photographing – so I was super happy to be lucky enough to be able to create their wedding story. And the guests were giddy for I’m guessing the same exact reason. So much fun and celebration. Parent dances that were incredibly touching and emotional. Awesome photos with grandma and also Chelsea and Tyler’s beloved pets. The crowd danced up a storm and everyone had a blast – including me! I never thought I would love a small backyard wedding as much as I did this one. If I have to find positive with the pandemic, I would say that people’s priorities are much more aligned. Yayyy!
