I love branding photo shoots – it is so much fun to have these mini-model sessions – styling the outfits and choosing locations that are dear to my heart.
For this one, my friend and colleague Rick Bouthiette Photography was nice enough to shoot my branding photos at Great Island Common in New Castle, NH. I spent a lot of time choosing outfits and accessories that represented the message that I wanted to send to my clients. My love and connection to the ocean, my love for being barefoot . . . my toes in the sand and the perfect colors for all the things.
I chose this beautiful state park because I love photographing seacoast and beach weddings and New Castle and Rye are two of my favorite oceanfront spots. I have photographed many New Hampshire engagement sessions here and also family and children’s portraits. It’s also a beautiful spot for a seacoast elopement ceremony. There is so much variety. A beach with soft white sand, beautiful beach grass, rocks and a really cool breakwater/jetty and gardens, greenery, birch trees, logs, and a weather-worn fence – it’s got it all!
This photo shoot was an experience that taught me SO much about what I want to say to my couples who are looking to plan the wedding of their dreams. The reason this photo shoot felt SO good and turned out SO beautifully and left me feeling amazing, is that I surrounded myself with the things that I love deeply. THAT is such an important element of planning your wedding day. If you LOVE the seacoast as much as I do and you find it almost a spiritual experience, then that is exactly where you should have your wedding. It’s lovely to have a ballroom or a country club wedding in the town you grew up in, but if it doesn’t speak to you, you should give yourself permission to follow your heart and soul. So, whether it’s a mountain top, or a city bistro or saying your vows with your toes in the sand – as much as this is going to sound like a cliche, DO YOU!
I’m so excited to share my favorite branding photos – I hope you can FEEL how connected I am to the ocean.
