Kathleen and Kyle’s fall New Hampshire wedding was an absolute blast to photograph! From start to finish everyone was smiling ear to ear. Their family and friends were so excited to celebrate with them and had so much fun at their wedding. Both of their families were very close, which made for a day full of memories and heartfelt moments.
I got to know the couple during their engagement session. It was a very cold and snowy day at Greycourt Park in Methuen, MA. We got there and found out it was closed due to the pandemic. We made the most out of it by taking photos on the outskirts of the park and they were gorgeous in the winter light. You can see some of their beautiful engagement photos here.
Their beautiful sunny wedding day started at the bride and groom’s home in North Andover. We took some portraits and candid photos of the groom, his parents, and groomsmen before the ceremony. The guys enjoyed a toast together while getting ready.
And then on to the bride’s parents’ home to do the same. I love to capture these special moments before the ceremony when everyone is full of anticipation for the day. Being invited to take photos inside of someone’s home is always an honor and the photos are particularly special keepsakes.
The bride and the bridesmaids had tons of laughs while getting ready and sipping mimosas in their matching buffalo check outfits. Once the bride had on her gown she looked so beautiful. Kathleen wore her mom’s veil from her wedding. She chose to do a first look with her dad on the staircase of their family home. Kathleen came down the stairs as her dad looked on joyously with so much love in his eyes. After Kathleen gave him a big hug and walked past him, both of her parents kissed. It was so sweet to see her parents emotional on their daughter’s wedding day. They looked so thrilled for her!
Kathleen and Kyle wanted to honor family traditions and have the ceremony at their family church, Saint Michael Parish Church in North Andover. Kathleen look gorgeous as she walked down the aisle, but the flower girl shined too! They had a traditional catholic ceremony as their friends and family looked on, and then it was official!
Kathleen and Kyle hosted their reception at the Atkinson Resort and Country Club in Atkinson, NH. The venue is gorgeous with so many photo ops. It is a privilege to be on their preferred vendor list and the number of weddings I’ve photographed there has allowed me to find all of the unique and special places to take my couples during their photo session. This adventurous couple had no problem walking all over the property to take portraits together. We climbed a big hill at the country club and took some iconic photos against the blue sky. They were shy and sweet, fun and romantic. Kathleen and Kyle wanted to take lots of photos with their family and friends so we planned plenty of time for that during the cocktail hour.
The bridal party entrances did not disappoint – going all out to welcome the couple into their reception and Joey from A Main Event never disappoints in rocking the house as MC and DJ. It is always a fun surprise to see how creative the wedding party gets during the introduction – a bridesmaid getting on a groomsmen’s shoulders might have been a first for me to photograph!
The speech from the bride’s father was very touching and heartfelt – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Hearing the speeches about the couple is always one of my favorite moments during the wedding. It reminds you how important this milestone is to the family and always connects everyone to the couple even more.
After dinner, it was time for dancing! The guests loved the martini luge ice sculpture that is so unique to the country club. The dance floor was packed all night – everyone danced the night away and the dance moves were epic.
Kathleen and Kyle were surrounded by so much love on their wedding day! I wish you both all the best in your life together! Cheers!
